Chapter 78 (IRS  Detroit Computing Center) members came out in force during a visit from National President Tony Reardon in July.

In person and via teleconference, more than 200 of the chapter's membership had the chance to hear from Tony and ask questions at various meetings throughout the day. Tony and Chapter President Danny McClain toured the print operations center which the chapter successfully battled to keep in Detroit. The IRS had threatened to move the print function to another state putting hundreds of jobs at risk. An aggressive effort orchestrated by the chapter involved Detroit city officials and members of the Detroit congressional delegation. The IRS eventually conceded and agreed to keep the work and the jobs in the Motor City. He also discussed issues of concern with IT employees.
