Flowers for Valentine's Day?

Flowers

Lots of Americans give or receive flowers for Valentine’s Day but did you ever consider how those flowers arrive at your local florist?

Most of the roses and other flowers you see this time of year come from Latin America and are inspected by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Agriculture Specialists. These inspections of load after load of flowers at Miami and other ports are critical to keeping unwanted and potentially dangerous pests away from U.S. agriculture.

These highly-trained inspectors play an important role in getting the roses to you while protecting U.S. farmers. Send them some love next time you are at
a port of entry.
