This July Fourth, NTEU members can do something patriotic that takes only a few minutes—standing up for their retirement security.
Cuts in the administration’s 2018 budget proposal and threaten your current pay check and future retirement. We need every NTEU member—and your family and friends—to act so together we can stop these proposals from moving forward in Congress.
Now is the perfect time to act. Members of Congress will be in their district offices the week of July 3 and throughout August. Call, email or better yet, schedule a meeting with your members of Congress and urge them to oppose cuts to your retirement. Not sure what to say? Unlike previous retirement proposals, these new cuts impact current employees. They would:

Result in a six percent pay cut

Decrease the value of your monthly pension from a high 5 formula

Eliminate your retirement cost of living increases and the supplement for early retirees
As federal employees, you demonstrate patriotism every day by working keep our nation safe, healthy and moving forward. Tell Congress to protect the retirement you were promised and deserve.
