It has now been 16 years since that unforgettable morning. Sixteen years since nearly 3,000 innocent lives were taken from us and a sense of peace destroyed by the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. We honor the memories of all who were killed, recognize those who survived and remember the sacrifices of the first responders and recovery workers.
Americans endured with spirit of unity and service that arose in the immediate aftermath of the attacks. That spirit lives on today in the federal employees who stand fast for the public, contributing to the health, safety and well-being of their fellow Americans.
NTEU is proud to represent these dedicated federal employees who perform a vast array of duties to help Americans in their day-to-day lives. You have been there for America, you are there for our country now and will continue to be there regardless of the challenges we may face in the days ahead.
Sixteen years after an attack was conspired to break us, America stands tall and proud. Thank you for keeping America strong and moving forward. The victims of Sept. 11, their families, and all of you are in my thoughts.
