The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) season is now open. CFC is the largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign in the world.
As you consider the charities that are part of the campaign, I encourage you to make the Federal Employee Education and Assistance (FEEA) Fund part of your CFC donations. Why? Because FEEA (CFC #11185) is the only charity that provides emergency assistance and scholarships solely to federal employees. NTEU is a founding member of FEEA and continues to play an active role in helping federal employees help one another.
In the aftermath of the devastating string of hurricanes and wildfires, we continued our long history of working closely with FEEA and matched—dollar-for-dollar—thousands in contributions from our members to the NTEU Disaster Fund. We are now working to spread the word that financial aid is available to federal employees in NTEU-represented agencies who were harmed in the disasters.
While FEEA provides millions of dollars in assistance to employees during high-visibility natural disasters, the fund also helps thousands of employees each year with personal hardships. As a member of the FEEA Board of Directors, I regularly hear about the critical role that FEEA plays in the lives of these federal employees and their family members. FEEA helps with rent and mortgage payments, utility bills, emergency travel costs and funeral expenses so employees can get back on their feet.
Federal employees have a passion for service that goes well beyond the workplace. You make a meaningful difference in the lives of your fellow Americans, and your generous participation in the CFC is one of the many reasons why I’m proud to represent you every day.
