NTEU was briefed today by officials from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on executive branch preparations in case of a government shutdown.
OMB instructed federal agencies last night to begin preparations, including posting their contingency plans on agency websites and beginning informal notifications to federal employees about their status should a shutdown occur. Formal furlough notices will be delivered over the weekend and Monday with each agency handling it separately.
