Government to Remain Shutdown Into Monday

The Senate on Sunday failed to come to agreement and act on a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) that would have allowed agencies to operate as normal on Monday. 


Senate Leader Mitch McConnell has scheduled a floor vote on a short-term continuing resolution that would keep agencies operating through Thursday, Feb. 8 at noon Monday. It is unclear at this time whether this measure can gather the 60 needed votes to advance. If it were to clear the Senate, the House would also need to act on this funding measure.
