Congress Releases Text of Negotiated Omnibus Bill

Last night, congressional leadership unveiled the 2,000-page text of an omnibus appropriations measure that would fund federal agencies for the remainder of fiscal year 2018.

The federal government is currently operating under a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) with funding expiring Friday at midnight.

The $1.3 trillion omnibus appropriations measure resulted from last month’s bipartisan budget deal (P.L. 115-123) that addressed sequestration by lifting both defense and non-defense discretionary spending caps for fiscal years 2018 and 2019.

The omnibus measure does not target or harm federal employee due process rights, pay, retirement or health care benefits, or federal employee labor organizations. Read more about the bill and next steps
