Visiting a National Park is already a joy, but especially so during “fee-free” days. This is the perfect chance to visit a favorite park or discover somewhere new.
The first of five days this year when the National Park Service (NPS) is waiving entrance fees at its national parks is this Monday, Jan. 20, in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday.
Mark your calendar for all these other entrance fee–free dates:
April 18: First day of National Park Week
August 25: National Park Service Birthday
September 26: National Public Lands Day
November 11: Veterans Day
There are also free or discounted passes available for seniors, current members of the military, families of fourth-grade students and disabled citizens.
In 2018, more than 318 million people visited NPS’ 419 park areas covering 85 million acres. NTEU is proud to represent dedicated NPS employees who take care of these treasured sites around the country.
