From the e-Bulletin: NTEU Pushing for “Use or Lose” Relief

Due to coronavirus-related plan changes,  your year-end leave balances could have more than the 240-hour cap that can be carried over to next year.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) announced it is soon issuing regulations allowing for ‘restoration of leave’ canceled because an employee had to perform work related to the pandemic. However, these new regulations do not allow for the carry-over of excess leave due to canceled travel plans .

NTEU is working on Capitol Hill to get legislation passed that recognizes the impact of the pandemic on scheduled vacations and time-off. Read more in the NTEU e-Bulletin here
