The SAMMIES are on Monday—and You’re Invited

They are known as the “Oscars” of public service, but this year’s gala is black tie optional.

That’s because the 2020 SAMMIES (Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals) will be handed out at a virtual ceremony on Monday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m., EDT.

The event will celebrate the extraordinary achievements of 27 public servants tackling some of America's most pressing challenges, including Federal Employee of the Year Dr. Anthony Fauci. It will be hosted by Kumail Nanjiani and feature special appearances from Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and several celebrities.

Once again, National President Tony Reardon served on the awards selection committee and helped choose the finalists from among hundreds of submissions.

NTEU congratulates award winners, and we salute all federal employees who have not stopped working throughout the pandemic to deliver important services to the American people.
