President Trump's veto of the National Defense Authorization Act is a setback for federal employees, who need a provision in that bill to keep from losing leave that they have rightfully earned but couldn't use because of the pandemic.
We encourage Congress to override the veto of the NDAA, which would allow federal employees to save additional annual leave for use in 2021. Federal employees should not be penalized for working throughout the pandemic and being unable, through no fault of their own, to use their accumulated leave.
