New Vaccine Incentive for Enrollees in the BCBS Federal Employee Program

Federal employees enrolled in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) Government-wide Service Benefit Plan, also known as the Federal Employee Program (FEP), have a new incentive to get vaccinated.

Starting this Friday, eligible members – those over the age of 18 with an FEP MyBlue account – will receive $50 on their MyBlue Wellness Card when they provide official documentation of their COVID-19 vaccination record. Those funds can be used to purchase qualified medical expenses. Learn more about FEP’s incentive program here.

NTEU is doing its part to support the White House’s National Month of Action and help meet President Biden’s goal of having at least 70 percent of U.S. adults receive a vaccination shot by July 4. The union is encouraging every NTEU member to get vaccinated to protect themselves, as well as their coworkers, family members and communities. NTEU remains in close contact with agencies to ensure they are providing federal employees with the leave they need to get fully vaccinated.

The Office of Personnel Management issued guidance to provide employees with up to two days of paid administrative leave per shot should they suffer adverse side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine. This is in addition to the four hours of administrative leave previously authorized for receiving each dose of the vaccine.

The best way to put the pandemic behind us and stay ahead of dangerous COVID variants is to get vaccinated. You can call 800-232-0233 or click here to find a COVID-19 vaccine near you.
