NPS Turns 105—Celebrate Virtually or Visit a Park for Free

The National Park Service (NPS) turns 105 tomorrow, Aug. 25, and you can join the celebration by visiting any of its sites for free. All 423 sites—which include national parks, monuments and reservations— will offer free admission for the day.

If you’re heading out, keep in mind that reservations are required at some popular destinations to prevent overcrowding.

NPS is also doing virtual activities to mark the occasion, so you can celebrate from anywhere.

If you can’t make this one, there are still two “fee-free” days remaining—National Public Lands Day on Sep. 25 and Veterans Day on Nov. 11.  There are also free or discounted passes available for senior citizens, current members of the military, families of fourth-grade students and disabled citizens.

NTEU is proud to represent dedicated NPS employees who take care of treasured sites around the country.
