Administrative Leave Available for Children's Vaccination Appointments

Federal employees who need to accompany a child to a COVID-19 vaccination appointment are eligible for up to four hours of administrative leave, according to the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force

The Task Force earlier this year ordered agencies to provide the leave for family members’ vaccinations, and has now clarified that the policy includes children aged 5 to 11 who last week became eligible for vaccination.

The policy allows up to four hours of leave per dose. Employees are advised to obtain advance approval from their supervisor to use the leave.
