Senate Passes Omnibus Spending Bill

The Senate passed an omnibus spending package that funds the federal government through the end of September. The president is expected to sign the bill and avert a government shutdown.

The spending bill, which the House approved Wednesday, boosts funding for nearly every NTEU-represented agency for the remainder of this fiscal year. It also contains NTEU-supported provisions continuing the moratorium on A-76 competitions and requiring the Office of Personnel Management to report on telework during the pandemic. Read more 

NTEU is pleased that a shutdown was averted and that many agencies have funding increases through the remainder of the fiscal year. The union is already working with lawmakers to ensure that NTEU-represented agencies have the resources they need to carry out their important missions for fiscal year 2023.
