House Approves Legislation to Improve Access to FECA Benefits

The House approved legislation that would improve access to benefits under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA), which serves as the workers' compensation program for federal employees.

Under the bipartisan bill (H.R. 6087), employees would be allowed to receive medical care from a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and have them provide certification of injury.

Ahead of the vote, NTEU sent a letter to lawmakers voicing support for the bill, which now heads to the Senate for consideration.
