Congress Working on Continuing Resolution

With government funding expiring Sept. 30, congressional leaders are considering a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government operating at current funding levels through mid-December.

Currently, the House has passed six of the 12 appropriations bills; the Senate has not passed any.

The White House has requested that Congress add provisions to the CR with funding for Ukraine and the pandemic. The administration also noted the need for an extension of certain authorities that are due to expire including an extension of the authority for the FDA to collect user fees.

NTEU continues to  work with Congress to avoid a shutdown and to press for adequate funding for our agencies and a higher pay increase for federal employees in the final funding agreement.

Join NTEU in urging Congress to pass legislation to keep the government open.
