In a column published Aug. 31, National President Tony Reardon says recent rhetoric about federal workers warrants a full review of security procedures at agency workplaces.
"Unfortunately, disinformation about any federal agency, whether it is the IRS, the FBI or the National Archives, creates distrust in government generally. And it is alarming to federal employees across the country,” Reardon wrote in Government Executive.
The NTEU leader went on to urge all Americans to resist those who demonize civil servants and instead remember that they live in neighborhoods across the country and provide valuable public services.
