NTEU Ready to Help Hurricane Ian Victims

NTEU’s thoughts are with our members in Florida dealing with the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Ian. The safety of federal employees is NTEU’s number one priority.

We are in close contact with our chapters and agencies in the affected areas and are working with agencies to ensure all employees are accounted for.

We understand that employees will need time to recover from this historic storm. NTEU stands ready to deal with any workplace issues employees may encounter, including time off to deal with storm damage.

In addition, financial assistance is available to hurricane victims at NTEU-represented agencies who experienced property damage or needed to evacuate. The NTEU Disaster Fund, administered through the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund, provides grants of up to $1,000 to help with temporary lodging, major home repairs not covered by insurance and replacement beds. Employees who plan to apply for assistance should save their receipts to submit with their application.
