The Washington Post is the latest national media outlet to cover NTEU’s continuing battle against disinformation about the IRS and its workforce.
Fed up with countless campaign commercials that flat out lie about the work that IRS employees do, Reardon called on political candidates to stop peddling fear to win votes.
“In today’s epidemic of political violence, I’m concerned about the safety of the employees we represent,” NTEU National President Tony Reardon said.
Importantly, The Post column confronts the lies and correctly reports that the IRS plans to use new funding to rebuild after years of underfunding and understaffing, and that many new employees will be customer service representatives.
