Congress Clears Funding Bill

The House has followed the Senate in voting to approve an omnibus funding bill for the remainder of fiscal year 2023.

While a few administrative details are being finalized, the president is expected to sign it and there will be no government shutdown.

NTEU welcomes passage of this bill which gives many federal agencies much-needed funding boosts. It staves off a potential government shutdown and gives federal employees and their agencies some stability in the months ahead.

The bill is silent on the federal pay raise for 2023, clearing the way for the president to implement an average 4.6 percent increase—the highest raise in 20 years.
