FEVS Scores Improve Over the Last Year

Federal employee ratings of their workplace improved over the last year, according to the results of the 2024 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) released by the Office of Personnel Management.

The overall, government-wide employee engagement index score was 73 percent, up from 72 percent last year and the highest score since FEVS started gauging it. The index measures the general employee view of the workplace as well as how employees feel about their agency leadership.

There was also improvement on many of the key statements that employees were asked to evaluate, such as:

  • My talents are used well in the workplace: 66 percent, up from 64 percent last year.

  • My work gives me a feeling of personal accomplishment: 74 percent, up from 73 percent last year.

  • I am given a real opportunity to improve my skills in my organization: 72 percent, up from 70 percent last year.

Data about specific agencies will be released later this year.
